The artist Katarzyna Pagowska is interested in the position of art, the status of the artist and the work conditions in culture in Maribor. During her residency she discovered different statistical parameters and other current researches.
Since her stay in Maribor coincides with the peak of mayoral elections, she followed the candidates and their appearances at debates. Through the above-mentioned actions, she realized that a big advancement of culture in the city could be achieved by putting already approved plans into action and with the solving of the already exposed problems from the past.
In her work, she used the 26 points of KNVOSUK (Collective of Non-governmental Organizations and Independent Creators in Culture) as a base, which were pinned to the door of the Office for Culture in MOM in February this year and point out the already approved decisions of MOM. This served as an insight for the citizens and a reminder to the future mayor about the commitment to the execution of the LPK- Local Culture Program.
Political experience shows that a lot of things are promised before the elections, there are noble causes being advocated with burning passion and the personal missions of the candidates are pointed out, but after this comes the election silence and after that the post-election silence. In any case, on the façade, the 26 highlighted points have a bright future ahead, the author playing with the meaning of brightness, which can mark a bright period or the fading of memories and promises. On Friday (before the election silence), she will put the points on the façade and will unveil it with an intervention on Monday (the day of results).
